How to perform a data recovery using Lazesoft Data Recovery?

Do not write anything anymore to the drive you want to recover the data from!

When you have launched the Lazesoft Data Recovery, you'll see the Start Data Recovery Wizard window.
The Start Data Recovery Wizard screen provides two data recovery options, "File Recovery" or "Partition Recovery".
1.Select data recovery options
As a general data recovery guide:

- if you have deleted files, first use the "File Recovery" option;
- if you have a corrupt or formatted disk, first use the "Partition Recover" option
Elect to the "File Recovery" option
The "File Recovery" options is best used when you hard drive is running correctly, but:
- individual files have been deleted and emptied from the Windows Recycle Bin;
- files have been deleted accidently by user and bypassed the Windows Recycle Bin;
- files have been deleted by a virus, trojan or worm;
- files have been deleted by Shift + Delete;
To search for deleted or lost files, click the "File Recovery" button to proceed.
If your data loss problem relates to loss of data from the entire drive, select instead try the "Recover Drive" option).
Elect to the "Partition Recovery" option
The "Partition Recovery" options is best used when:
- a partition has been formatted;
- windows has been reinstalled on a partition;
- a drive letter has gone missing;
- a partition is Inaccessible by your PC;
- or some other serious problem cause files on drive cannot be accessed.
Selecting the disk, partition or volume for data recovery
you'll get a list of all the drives that are accessible in your system. Now you will select your "problem" drive from this list.
it is usually best to select and search the entire "Hard Disk"
Press Next.
Recover Options, Automatic or Selected File Types
The following screen presents two drive recovery options:
- "Automatic partition recovery. (Recommended)"
In Automatic mode, the common Files types will be pre-selected. In most cases the common pre-selected file types will be adequate and additional file type selections will NOT be required.
- "Partition recovery using selected file types"
This option allows the user to manually select the file types to assist search this type of files. The more file types is selected, more slower the search will be.
2.Preview and saving recovered files
It is likely to preview the recovered files while the search is in progress.
The Lazesoft Data Recovery search results screen will remind you of Windows Explorer. On the left side of the screen you see a tree of recovered directories and folders.

When you open a folder on the left side, the files in this folder are displayed on the right side. Click the files on the right side, you can preview it.
In order to actually save your recovered files you will need to copy them off the "bad" drive to another location.
Make sure this location has enough free space for all the files you need. Never copy the recovered files back to a location on the drive you just recovered them from (the "bad" drive), or you will overwrite them and they will be gone forever!
Select file or folder to be saved by placing a tick in the box next to the folder or file.
Press the Save button or Recovery>Save on the main menu.
Now copy over your files. As soon as the copy operation has completed (which can take quite some time depending on the amount of data and the speed of your computer or network connection), make sure that all the files you need arrived safely on the destination drive.
